GUIDELINES
The guidelines below are designed to ensure that our systems are compliant with all relevant legal and ethical standards, and that they are developed and used in a way that is consistent with our values and mission.
NO LEGAL ADVICE
We understand that legal advice should only be provided by licensed lawyers. Therefore, our AI systems should not and cannot provide legal advice. AI may support users in a legal context, but only if it is accompanied by appropriate checks and balances, such as a human lawyer overseeing the process.
DRAFTING, NOT CRAFTING
We believe that AI-generated documents should be treated as drafts. When providing AI-drafted documents (e.g., letters, job descriptions) to end-users, a warning will be included to emphasize the draft nature of the content.
LAWYER IN THE LOOP
We recognize the importance of having a lawyer review each AI-generated legal document. Therefore, AI may be used for legal drafting only when a lawyer reviews each document.
Rule of PI: Use the API for IP and PII
We understand that sensitive data, including user data or internal company IP, must be handled with great care. Therefore, we carefully review the terms and privacy standards of any APIs and models that we use to ensure the security of sensitive data.
ETHICS REVIEW
We believe that conducting an internal ethics review for each new AI feature launch is essential. We regularly consult and update this ethical AI guideline document during the review process to ensure compliance and adherence to best practices. We evaluate products based on their privacy policy, respect for intellectual property and professional responsibility, and products that make a concerted effort to address and correct potential biases, errors, and misinformation.
